Playing catch up to date

Hi, What a beautiful morning here in Humboldt, TN! Sun shining and I have my window open to air out my apartment. On my first blog entry I told you about my C-spine fusion. That was Oct 6th, 2009. My surgeon, Dr. Parsioon let me go to Oregon for Christmas vacation. I left Dec 8th and returned Jan 12th. In Denver airport I had to switch planes. The girl pushing my wheelchair almost tipped me out of the chair and I grabbed the hand rail to keep from falling resulting in a sprain to my left hand. Long story but I am still having trigger thumb and pain. Still haven't heard from the Southwest Insurance people. Will call them again Monday. I had a wonderful time in Fort Stevens State Park with my friend Annie and Earl. Their RV is beautiful. I got to see the ocean several times and also lots of snow on the mountain pass. I also got to see my Grandchildren that live in Forest Grove, OR, Brett and MacKenzie Bryson. They are so grown up and really great kids! Flying back was nerve racking cause of the incident in Denver. I had 2 escorts this time and no incidents. almost forgot, I got patted down in security.. lesson, don't complain about an airport or airlines! Guess they thought I might retaliate...

C-Spine fusion, St Francis Hospital, Memphis, TN
What a horrible experience! I arrived at the hospital at the admissions department before dawn. There was not a wheelchair to be found. I had to walk to the elevator, go up to the thrid floor and then walk to the nurses station. Not a good thing since I have trouble walking and my back was out. I had my surgery and that night I got choked and could not reach the call button and Amy was not in the room. By the time I called the hospital operator on the phone to get me help the nurses almost coded me. Thank God that did not happen. I stayed in the hospital till Friday and my Amy brought me home.
